The City is developing a multimodal corridor plan with recommendations that will improve walking and biking conditions for all ages and abilities and improve the comfort and safety of active transportation in high desert weather. The project will develop recommendations for land use and zoning along Avenue Q to be implemented with the City’s General Plan Update. Avenue Q is an important east-west connection for Palmdale and is anticipated to link Palmdale's major destinations and activity centers.
The Palmdale Infrastructure Support Project will refine and expand on the initial infrastructure analysis identified by the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA). It will include an analysis of the existing and future planned infrastructure systems necessary to support the future Palmdale multi-modal high-speed rail station and may be used by the CHSRA to support the development of future design documents.
This project will entail the development of a comprehensive inventory of already built and future master-planned utility infrastructure supportive of housing development in the Palmdale area, including but not limited to the City of Palmdale, unincorporated LA County areas within the City, and unincorporated LA County areas adjacent to City boundaries.
