Andrea Alarcón was elected to her first term for City Council on November 8, 2022.
Alarcón had dedicated her professional life to defending fundamental rights. She works as a civil rights attorney, focusing on defending voting rights.
She has also served as President of the Los Angeles Board of Public Works, has sat on several boards and commissions, and has extensive experience in public policy.
Alarcón holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington DC with a double major in American Government and Literature and a minor in Theology. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
Rounding off her educational career, Alarcón earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from Loyola Law School.
Alarcón is an avid activist for women, children, and families. Her greatest joy is her daughter, Cheyenne, who is entering her senior year at UCLA majoring in Labor and Workplace Studies and Public Policy.
