Kaleidoscope: Art & Music Festival returns Oct. 8

PALMDALE – The sixth annual Kaleidoscope Art & Music Festival, a unique event that celebrates the arts in the high desert, has announced its lineup of musical performers when it returns to the Palmdale Amphitheater, 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd., on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

Music, art, food, artisan creations, painting classes, live art performances and locally crafted beer and wine will all be part of the Kaleidoscope experience.

“Kaleidoscope is a community favorite event that features unique artful experiences, including local and regional artisans, live musical entertainment, art displays, live muralists crafting spectacular works, in person painting and craft activities, food, craft beer, and wine,” said Palmdale Mayor Steve Hofbauer. “The event lineup of diverse musical entertainment will sure to impress.”

This year we are excited to announce two stages of live music: The Amphitheater mainstage, know as the Kaleidoscope Tapestry Stage, and a second Mosaic Stage in the expanded portion of the festival.

Kaleidoscope's main stage features a variety of world music for your listening pleasure, where you can choose one of our colorful Adirondack chairs or shaded umbrella tables to sit back and relax to the beautiful music on the Tapestry Stage. Among the musical acts taking the stage will be the Celtic jigs and traditional folks songs from The Bracken Band at 10 a.m.; Cuban born musician, also known as “El Tresero Moderno” (The Modern Tresero), San Miguel takes the stage at 11:30 a.m.; reimagined renditions of favorite hits and fresh and funky explorations of jazz standards will be performed at 1 p.m. by LP and The Vinyl; Upstream performs at 2:45 p.m.; and toe-tapping originals and traditional Irish and Bluegrass covers by Finnegan Blue finishes the day with a performance starting at 4:30 p.m.

Returning this year is our Mosaic Stage. This second stage will feature DNA Studio #1 playing at 10 a.m.; playful folk/bluegrass/Dixieland entertainers High-D Boys at 11 a.m.; DNA Studio #2 at 12 p.m.; Illunis at 1:15 p.m; Antelope Valley singer songwriter Janell Crampton at 2:15 p.m.; Mayde in Ireland at 3:30 p.m.; and Siren Valley Fusing Folk-Pop and Acoustic-Americana at 4:30 p.m.

In addition to musical entertainment, Kaleidoscope offers a wide variety of artisan displays, original works, and live art demonstrations, including specular works of art created by muralists on site. The peaceful sounds of the Living Water Statues® will bring another dimension to the event, while professional artists will present their original works for purchase, a great way to get a jump of your holiday shopping. Works by student, novice, and hobbyist artists will be on display in the ArtLight exhibit, and people age seven and older with varying skill levels may try their hand at painting with free Brush Strokes classes offered throughout the day!

Food and drink also make Kaleidoscope an unforgettable experience. Attendees will have delectable offerings from several food trucks, while the Art of the Vine and Art of the Brew offer both flavorful and fresh locally crafted beverages.

The Palmdale Amphitheater is generously sponsored by Antelope Valley Medical Center, WM, American Medical Response, Snow Orthodontics, ValleyWide Dental, Ventura Graphix, AV Mosquito & Vector Control District, and Visit Palmdale.
