Kaleidoscope: Art & Music Festival Features Free Family Fun

PALMDALE – Art experiences and activities for kids and the whole family will be offered at the sixth annual Kaleidoscope Art & Music Festival, a unique event celebrating the arts and music in the high desert, on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Palmdale Amphitheater, 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd. Admission, parking, and many activities and experiences are free.

Join us for Kids Edition: Brush Strokes Live Studio Classes, starting at 10:30 a.m., where young artists are invited to try their hand at painting. Instruction and painting supplies are free. These spots fill up fast on site and are first come, first served, so arrive early to secure your spot for either 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Participants must be 7 to 13 years old and accompanied by an adult. Participants ages 14 and up can participate in their own Brush Strokes Live Studio Class in a different area of Kaleidoscope.

Kids can try Bubble Art by creating a bubble painting with a bubble wand, create a badge or temporary tattoo at the Little Artist booth, bring out their inner chalk artist by coloring with chalk, and take photos with their completed artwork at the photo station. Come enjoy our Tot Area for age 6 and under, with an exciting obstacle course of tents, tunnels, ball pits, and bubbles.

The whole family can show off their creativity with a community painting project, brought to you by Palmdale Playhouse. Enjoy creating colorful and inspirational art on rocks and enjoy our featured rock art garden. Other crafting experiences include a magic of color motion STEAM project involving a paper DIY spinner, or enjoy the AR Workshop, where youth can create a mini wood art project, with materials included, while supplies last. Face painting will also be available with glitter tattoos and multiple designs and colors to choose from.

For our families with children with sensory sensitivity, enjoy our accessibility space and sensory-friendly activities for people of all ages This activity is brought to you by Viva Superheroes.

Kaleidoscope is also the place to meet professional artists offering original works for purchase, and a great way to find unique gifts to start your holiday shopping. There is so much to enjoy, plan to arrive early and stay for the entire event!
