WHY: Children participating in Palmdale Parks and Recreation programing created art with the intention of gifting their work to both the Los Angeles County Fire Station 37 and to Palmdale’s Sheriff Station in observance of National First Responders Day, which is recognized on Oct. 28, 2022, and as a personal “thank you” to these first responders.
BACKGROUND: On Sept. 24, both Marie Kerr Park and Domenic Massari Park had a session of the award-winning Palettes in the Park program. 30 children were able to create small pieces of art. The theme for this year’s Palettes in the Park was "First Responders". Some of the young artists opted to be part of the gifting on Oct. 28 in appreciation for the life saving and public safety work of our local first responders.
