Measure AV Oversight Committee Applications Available

PALMDALE - The City is accepting applications for public members to serve on the Measure AV Oversight Committee for a term of two years to expire in April 2025. 

The Measure AV Oversight Committee shall ensure the funds collected through the local ¾ cent transactions and use tax passed by Palmdale voters on November 3, 2020, are expended for the purposes specified in the Measure AV Ballot language. The Measure AV Oversight Committee will have an opportunity to review, comment and make recommendations on proposed expenditures which may include, but not be limited to, receiving semi-annual reports from City staff each fiscal year on revenues and expenditures from the tax imposed by Ordinance No.1549. 

Qualifications: Members shall reside in the City of Palmdale, or own a business in the City of Palmdale, and be willing to serve a minimum of two years on the committee. Members may not be an elected official. Members will receive $100 per meeting with a maximum of two meetings per month. The Chair will receive $150 per meeting with a maximum of two meetings per month. Members of the committee shall meet bi-monthly to review and provide input on proposed revenues and expenditures of funds.

As part of the final selection process, applicants will be required to pass a Livescan fingerprint submission via the California Department of Justice. If appointed, a Statement of Economic Interests Form 700 will be required to be completed within 30 days of appointment.

A hard copy of the completed application may also be emailed to cityclerkdepartment@cityofpalmdale.org, hand delivered, or mailed (postmarked by the deadline) directly to the Office of the City Clerk, 38300 Sierra Hwy., Ste. C, Palmdale, CA 93550 by the Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 at 6 pm.
