Monday, December 2 

Kindness Rocks4 pm. Bringing the community together to spread kindness by painting rocks for others to find. Paint and rocks are provided. Free admission, open to all ages.


Anxiety Symptoms and Treatment6:30 pm. Presented by LA County Mental Health. Presentacion en Español.

 

Tuesday, December 3, 10 & 17

Preschool Storytime, 1 pm. Ages 3–5 with Miss Shay.

 

Legal Aid for Low Income Individuals3 to 6 pm. Services provided by the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles by appointment only. Call the library at 267-5600 to schedule.

Holistic Poetry3 pm. Join us in discovering and examining who we are in mind, body, and spirit through the reading, writing, and discussion of poetry. Participants are encouraged to bring their own works and the works of their favorite authors to share! Program led by local poet Lida Abramiam.


Monday, December 9

A Very Harry Potter Holiday, 4 pm. All ages join us for Harry Potter themed holiday crafts and activities. Costumes Welcome.


Tuesday, December 10

Coffee & Coloring for Adults, 10 am. We provide the coffee and coloring supplies, you provide the conversation and creativity.


STEAM Thinkshop, 4 pm. Ages 5 to 11. Enjoy activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics in a “hands on” environment.


Wednesday, December 11

Midweek Movies5:30 pm. Home Alone (1990), rated PG. Free admission, open to all ages.


Thursday, December 12

Perler Beads4 pm. This program allows teens to create nerdy designs and patterns using melty beads.


Monday, December 16 

Books and Barks, 3:30 pm to 5 pm. Build your kids’ reading skills by letting them read to friendly, non-judgmental dogs in one of our most popular events.

 

Tuesday, December 17

Wii U Tournament, 4 pm to 5:30 pm. Come play video games at your local library. Open to all.


Wednesday, December 18

Midweek Movies5:30 pm. Frosty the Snowman, How the Grinch Stole Christmas & A Charlie Brown Christmas. Free admission, open to all ages.


Mystery Book Club, 7 pm. A new mystery title to discuss each month.

Sports Day! – 10 am-12 pm. Bring your family and friends out to the park for some football, kickball, tennis or others! Select equipment available for check out, see park staff for details. All ages welcome.


Monday, December 2, 9, & 16  - Domenic Massari & Marie Kerr                          

Musical Mondays – 4-6:30 pm. Relax at the park while listening to the tunes of the holiday. Check out a game or play caroms with staff.  All ages welcome.

 

Tuesday, December 3, 10, & 17- Domenic Massari & Marie Kerr

Frozen Tuesdays, 4-6:30 pm. Families are welcome to come celebrate the holiday with fun themed crafts and activities, such as snowflakes, snowballs and snow families. All Ages

 

Wednesday, December 4, 11, & 18 - Domenic Massari & Marie Kerr

Free Play, 4-6:30 pm.  Patrons have the chance to have some fun with our equipment, lawn games and different activities that aren’t frequently out in the parks. All ages welcome.

Throwback Thursdays4-6:30 pm. Travel back in time to the 70s, 80s, or 90s! Activities based on decade iconic art. See park staff for upcoming planned activities. All ages welcome.

Warm Up Fridays, 4-6:30 pm. Stop on by to see what we have mastered for the cold season ahead, and join us for fun obstacle courses on our playground, family friendly competitions, volleyball games, and around the world basketball games.

Family Holiday Craft Workshop10 am– 12 pm.  Free DIY craft for all to design individually or as a family.  Wrapping paper will be available to wrap craft creations if desired. All ages. #SeasonOfGiving #ParksMakeLifeBetter #CityOfPalmdale


Friday, December 13 – Joe Davies Heritage Airpark

Airpark Winter Holiday4 pm.  Enjoy your favorite aircraft aglow in holiday lights.  Wander the trails while listening to the sounds of holiday music.  Bring the whole family for a night to remember!


Saturday, December 14 & 21 - Domenic Massari & Marie Kerr

Ugly Sweater Saturdays, 9:30 am- 4:30 pm. Wear your ugly sweaters to the park!  Or just stop by to design smaller, crafty ugly sweaters to hang around your house as deco.  Park staff will offer craft supplies to DIY ugly sweaters.  Ages 5+


Saturday, December 14 – Marie Kerr & Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center

Holiday Cookie Decorating10 am– 12 pm. Come join us for family holiday fun! Recreation staff will host free holiday cookie decorating and a free hot chocolate bar. Patrons can also make a holiday craft. Share your decorations with us! Ages 5+ #CookieDecorating #CityofPalmdale

Housing Rights Legal Clinic NLSLA, 9 am to 12 pm at SAVES, 1002 E Ave Q-12.  The NLSLA team provides free assistance to individuals and families dealing with Reentry; clear your adult criminal record; fix errors on background reports; if your professional license is denied or revoked; understand your employment rights and new Fair Chance Hiring Laws. Free Legal Help for homeowners & tenants; issues with fair housing, eviction or homelessness, Section 8 issues, rent increases and unsafe living conditions. Walk-ins are welcome or call 1-800-433-6251 to make an appointment or speak with an in-take advocate.

The Nutcracker Princess, 2 pm and 7 pm.   When Grandfather Drosselmeyer spins a fantastical tale about adventures with the Nutcracker Princess, cousins Marie and Clara find themselves swept into a raging battle between the Nutcracker Princess and her nemesis, the Queen of the Mice. A new take on the age-old ballet.  Tickets $12/adults, $10 seniors, students, military, and 12 & under.


Saturday, December 14

Singalong With Santa, 2 pm and 7 pm.  Santa returns with his elves Figgy, Sugar Plum, Jingle and Jangle. Kids can handcraft holiday keepsakes and pen letters to Santa before the show.  Then, join Santa and his crew for an interactive performance. Tickets $6 includes Souvenir Songbook and use during the show.
