PALMDALE – The Library will host Harry Potter’s Birthday Bash this Friday, July 28, from 2 to 4 pm. Enjoy free Harry Potter goodies while browsing for your next book and meet representatives from all four Hogwarts houses. Attendees are encouraged to wear muggle or wizard attire. The event will also celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program. Kids, teens, and adults who completed the program will be entered into a raffle to win prizes. Admission is free.
Support the Friends of the Library and pick up some bargains at a book sale at the Library on Saturday, July 29 from 10 am to 2 pm. This sale is a Fill-a-Bag Book Sale, allowing shoppers to purchase bags in three sizes for $8, $4, or $2. Each bag purchased can then be filled with as many books or items as will fit into the bag. The sale includes a wide selection of gently used fiction, non-fiction and children’s books as well as DVDs and CDs. This event is co-sponsored by the Library and the Friends of the Palmdale City Library, a volunteer non-profit organization. Many of the Library’s free activities are supported through the Friends of the Library funding, and all proceeds from the book sale benefit the Palmdale City Library.
The Palmdale City Library, located at 700 E. Palmdale Blvd., is open Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm, Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
