WHAT:                    South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES) distribution of December holiday baskets. Nearly 550 food baskets will be given out, which will feed approximately 2,000+people.


WHEN:                    Friday, December 20, 9 am to 4 pm. Christmas baskets & toys 


                                 Friday, December 20, 9 am to 3 pm. toys only distribution & Senior Christmas baskets



WHERE:                 SAVES, 1002 East Ave. Q-12, in Palmdale.

WHO:                      SAVES Coordinator Patricia Morales; local families; SAVES Staff and volunteers. 

             

BACKGROUND:   Each year, SAVES distributes hundreds of gift baskets around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The baskets include items such as a large meat for a holiday meal, stuffing, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, instant mashed potatoes, corn muffin mix, canned sweet potatoes/canned pumpkin mix, gravy, rolls, juice, fresh vegetables and fruit.  In December, toy baskets are also given away.


SAVES provides a practical and caring approach to serving people in need. The SAVES program was started in 1983 to offer assistance to individuals and families who are experiencing a temporary emergency situation.
