The Palmdale City Library, located at 700 E. Palmdale Blvd., continues its Mid-Week Movies program with a showing of the movie The Proposal (2009), rated PG-13, on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 5:30 pm. Admission and popcorn are free.
In this romantic comedy, a demanding book editor facing deportation back to Canada (Sandra Bullock) persuades her assistant (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her so that she can stay in the United States. In return, she agrees to grant him a promotion, and to avoid suspicion she is forced to accompany him home to Alaska, where she meets his family, including his eccentric 90-year-old grandmother (Betty White).
The Library hosts a free showing of featured films every Wednesday evening. Upcoming movies scheduled to be shown include Blinded by the Light (2019) rated PG-13 on Feb. 19, The Ring (2002) rated PG-13 on Feb. 26, Playing with Fire (2019) rated PG on March 4, and Brave (2012) rated PG on March 11.
