[ARCHIVED] MA: Road Construction Update - Week of June 29 - July 5

 ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 

FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 29 THROUGH JULY 5, 2020

GENERAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION:


 

1 - Full closure of Pearblossom Highway from from the California Aqueduct Bridge to Valley Springs Road for roadway reconstruction work continues.

The existing traffic control and lane closures set up on the south side of Pearblossom Hwy. from 45th St. East to 55th St. East will remain in place while work in that segment is completed. Additional intersection closures at 40th St. East and 47th St. East on Pearblossom Hwy. during the Segment 1 closure.  The intersections will be closed to all movements for at least five days, during the week and weekend.  Detours will be posted.


Vehicles will be detoured to Avenue S at Sierra Highway and Fort Tejon Road. Local access will be provided to residents in the construction area, as needed and as construction permits. Travelers/commuters are advised to expect delays and to take alternate routes where possible. Avenue R, Avenue S, Palmdale Boulevard, Avenue P, or Avenue M are alternate east/west routes through the City to consider. Trucks must stay on designated truck routes (Palmdale Boulevard, Avenue P, and Avenue M are east/west truck routes). Avenue S is not a truck route. 2 – Palmdale Boulevard from SR-14 Freeway to 5th Street West

Intermittent lane closure on west bound #1 lane for landscaped median renovation.

 

3 – Rancho Vista Boulevard from 15th Street West to 30th Street West - new traffic pattern east bound Rancho Vista Boulevard

Right lane closure east bound on Rancho Vista Boulevard for the demo and replacement of all existing corner ramps from 15th St. West to 30th St. West. The intersections of 15th St. West, Dunbar St., Riverbend St., 22nd St. West, 23rd St. West, Mesa Lane, 28th St. West and 30th St. West will be impacted and may have either lane closures or be temporarily closed during the construction of the sidewalk ramps. There will also be traffic signal modification work at 20th St. West and at 25th St. West including the installation of new traffic signal poles. The traffic signals at these locations will be on red flash (four way stop) at times during this work. Please use alternate routes if possible and expect delays.


4 – Taintor Road between Delacour Drive and Hendon Drive

Intermittent flagging for sewer installation. Please follow traffic control and expect delays.


5 – 50th Street West from Avenue N to Avenue N-8

Lane closures on 50th St. West for street improvements. Access to Arnie Quinones Park will be closed for about 4 to 6 weeks for construction of the street improvements in front of the park.

 

6 – 40th Street East and Palmdale Boulevard

Intermittent lane closures for utility installation and street work.


7 – Pearblossom Highway from 45th Street East to 55th Street East

Segment 3 Stage 2 reconstruction work on the south side of the roadway will continue. One lane of travel for each direction will be provided on the north side of the roadway. Please follow traffic control and expect delays.
