   If you completed the Palmdale Partners Academy course before 2019 and are offered a Palmdale Partners Community Ambassador position, you will be required to repeat the Palmdale Partners Academy course within the next 2 years.  By proceeding with this application, you are agreeing to these terms.

   As a new Community Ambassador, you must sign a City of Palmdale Ambassador’s Agreement. It would be best if you pledged the following to serve in this capacity:

   • You must commit to giving at least six service hours monthly and ambassador meetings.
   • You must demonstrate leadership skills and self-awareness and set a positive example for our community.
   • As a Community Ambassador, you will interact with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. You must agree to always represent yourself in a professional, friendly, and patient manner.
   • As a Community Ambassador, you must agree to maintain boundaries regarding any personal opinions or sentiments, keeping in mind that your actions, words, and behaviors are representative of the City of Palmdale.
   • As a Community Ambassador, you are part of a dynamic team of motivated volunteers. You must agree that inter-communication is key to ensuring a highly effective team.
   • Your commitment to serving as a Palmdale Partners Community Ambassador requires your agreement to abide by the Ambassador Guidelines and all other expectations for this position.

   By continuing with this application process, you are agreeing to these terms.

   A fingerprinting and background check will be conducted as part of the application process for this or any volunteer position for the City of Palmdale. You acknowledge and agree to these terms by continuing with this application process.

21. Palmdale Driver Authorization

    A Palmdale Partners Community Ambassador may become a City of Palmdale Authorized Driver through the Human Resources Department. Proof of insurability and a pull of your driving record is required for approval. Once approved as a City Driver, you will be included in the City’s “Pull” program. Relevant driving policies and directives will apply, requiring review and signature. Please indicate your interest in becoming an authorized City Driver.

    Disclosure: Due to limited ambassador positions and depending on the number of applications received, applications will be submitted for a review process. Once your application is submitted, it will be forwarded to the selection committee. The application will be screened, and an interview will be arranged if you are a potential candidate. The Community Programs Coordinator will head the panel interview and include team members of the Community Ambassador Program and city personnel. Upon decision, you will be notified.

23. Enroll in Palmdale's Citizen's Academy

    To become a community ambassador, you must have completed the Palmdale Partners Academy. The next Palmdale Partners Academy is scheduled for Fall 2023. Registration will open on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, and close as soon as the class is full. Interested persons should submit their application as soon as possible, as participation is limited. Those who cannot commit to all class dates are asked to apply for future sessions. Classes will be held every Tuesday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. for eight weeks, from September 5th, 2023, to October 24th, 2023.
