6. ARTISTS MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:

   Submit the Generations application including digital images of the artwork(s) you are entering. Images must be at least 300 dpi. All entries must be completed electronically. Artwork may not be larger than 16X24, may be of any subject matter, (excluding nudity and adult-themed content.) Art must be ready to hang, no sculptures or art pieces that cannot be hung. Deadline to submit is August 1, 2023.  

8. EXHIBITION ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION:

   First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each age category (12 and younger, 13-17 years, 18-54 years and 55 years and older). The City of Palmdale will notify artists no later than August 8, 2023, by email, if their artwork(s) is accepted for exhibition. If selected to show, artists must deliver their artwork(s) to the Palmdale Playhouse, located at 38334 10^th Street East, on Monday, August 14 between 12 to 7 p.m. Artists must attach the Artist name, Title of artwork(s), Medium used and Age category onto their art pieces.

10. WHERE WILL THE EXHIBIT BE HOSTED?

    Selected pieces will be exhibited at Legacy Commons and The Palmdale Playhouse from August 25 through October 9, 2023. Each artwork will be displayed with the artist’s name, title of the artwork, and medium used.

12. There is no entry fee, you may submit up to three pieces. All artwork must be original works of the displaying artist. For more information call Legacy Commons at 661-267-5904
14. Guidelines for photography

    Set your camera or smartphone to take a high-resolution image (at least 300 dpi, consult your owner’s manual). Place artwork on a flat surface. If indoors, choose a well-lit area and use a flash. If outdoors, choose a spot in full shade. Square the image in the frame of your camera as much as possible. Make sure the camera is focused on the image before taking your shot, and take several shots as backups. Review images to ensure you have a clean, focused image for your entry. Repeat if necessary.
